This weeks trend … drumroll please… is the babydoll dress! While every season there are tons of trends to try out, this week I’m focusing on the babydoll dress. This recent shoot of mine incorporated many trends. Pink has been the color of 2016 and it’s definitely not ending soon. The majority of my instagram feed still loves the beautiful pale pink and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon. This season, the pinks are diversifying and becoming brighter and in different hues. Also trending are floral prints. Florals are always fun and perfect for Spring. Go with a bold bright print of go for a muted palette for something with a more boho vibe.
Which leads me to the end all trend which I tend to carry in my closet year round, the baby doll dress. It’s feminine, its flirty and it has a touch of youth. I love the softness that baby dolls carry. You can change up your look no matter who you are with a softer palette and vibe. I love babydoll since they are typically lose with am empire waist. That means the tightest part falls underneath the breasts. On those bloated days (or the days I blame on bloat when in reality I’ve fallen off the wagon) where it flatters everything you want to flaunt and hides everything else.
I purchased this DKNY silk/metallic dress and fell in love with it. I thrifted it for $10! The hemline is long enough to wear to a conservative dinner or work event and it stands out because of the metallic shine. It covers any problem areas and shapes the chest area nicely. I threw on some trending nude heels to make the outfit look a little younger. Do you like the babydoll dress? Here are some more traditional styles for some inspiration!
