Hello my Golden Dolls!
I wanted to go through my typical makeup routine for work recently. I don’t always wear makeup to work because I like having a fresh face to let my skin breathe at times (or I just wanted to sleep in -_-), but when I do, it’s less than a 10 minute process:
Foundation – I switch off between liquid and powder but I’ve been loving the Studio MAC fix + Prep & Prime spray. I first spray my entire face with the Fix + then use a powder brush to apply the Studio Fix. I use a tiny drop of concealer (MAC pro longwear concealer) for my under-eye which really makes me look a lot more awake than I really am.
Bronzer – Rihanna’s bronzer (MAC Love Rihanna Bronzing Powder) is by far my FAVE bronzer I’ve ever used. It gives a perfect GOLDen glow. I apply it to my check bones, down both sides of my nose and a little around my face to make sure there are no harsh lines.
Eyebrows – Anastasia (Beauty Express for brows and eyes) is the best I’ve ever used. I apply the gel sparingly to give the powder something to hold onto. Using the dark brown, I trace the the top and bottom of my eyebrow, then lightly, brush in the middle. I use an eyelash brush to gently brush from the center out to even out any color, but it’s not always necessary.
Lips – Line your lips with the MAC Nice’N’Spicy liner. Currently, the trend is to over line, so go for it! Have a little fun and make those lips look bigger! Use the lipstick (MAC Velvet Teddy) and fill in the rest of your lips. Make sure to go over the lipliner. You don’t want your lipliner to show, unless thats the look you’re going for.
Eyes – I have sensitive skin around my eyes to I tend to not wear a lot of eye makeup during the week. I absolutely love doing a smokey eye but first of all its a little much for work and my skin would not be happy with the application and removal process daily. Benefit’s they’re Real! push-up liner makes creating a cat eye simple. The tip is angled so there is little room for error. I like creating an elongated cat eye because it makes my eyes appear wider. I typically wear fake eyelashes but when I don’t I use Tarte’s Lights, Camera Splashes waterproof mascara. There is nothing I dislike more than looking like a raccoon with makeup that travels under your eyes by the end of day.
Parfume – Lastly, I think it’s important to find your scent. My two favorites are Pink Sugar (not shown) and Flowerbomb. Depending on my mood, I switch it up. I got a killer deal on the Flowerbomb purfume. It normally retails for $165 and there was a Groupon (I know, how strange for such a popular perfume) selling it for $100! I snagged one with the quickness!
I hope you enjoyed my first post! I’m searching for a camera this weekend so I can start posting clothing and style tips for you soon.
